Title: Effects of rTMS on Cannabis Use and Cognitive Outcomes in Schizophrenia

What is the purpose of the study?
     This study is investigating the effects of high-frequency (20Hz) repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on cannabis use disorder and cognitive function in individuals with co-morbid schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder. A total of N=40 schizophrenia individuals with cannabis use will be assigned to active rTMS (n=20) or sham rTMS (n=20) as a treatment regimen of 5x/week for 4 consecutive weeks, with weekly behavioral coaching.

What does the study involve?
     Number of contacts:  1 screen, 1 cognitive training, 2 cognitive assessments, daily Mon.-Fri. rTMS sessions x 4 wks, and 1 follow-up
     Time period:  6 weeks
     Length of contacts: 3.5 hr. screen, 3 hr. training, 7 hr. cognitive assessments, 30 min. rTMS sessions, 1 hr. follow-up
